# Changelog

> Latest updates and improvements to Newly

<Warning>
  You're reading the docs for **Newly v1 (legacy)**, the classic newly.app builder. Using app.newly.app or Newly for Mac? Go to the [Newly v2 docs](/). Credits, pricing and features differ between the two.

<Update label="June 22, 2026" description="Newly CLI, redesigned sidebar, per-project social sign-in, Backend tab in Agent Activity, and more">
  ## New features

  * **Newly CLI** — Pull your project's backend code, deploy to dev or prod, and manage logs, secrets, and the database from your terminal. See the [CLI guide](/legacy/advanced/cli).

  * **Redesigned project sidebar and UI** — New left sidebar categorization, refreshed projects panel, updated preview controls and sizing, a movable support window, and refreshed styling, fonts, and backgrounds across the project view.

  * **Backend tab in the Agent Activity panel** — A new Backend tab surfaces backend status alongside the agent's work, so you can see what's happening on your server without leaving the activity view.

  * **Per-project social sign-in (Google and Apple)** — A new web OAuth bridge lets each project run its own Google and Apple sign-in flow, so end users of your app sign in with credentials scoped to that project.

  * **New RevenueCat connection flow** — A rebuilt connection flow auto-creates your paywall, products, entitlements, and screenshots when you link a RevenueCat project. See the [RevenueCat integration](/legacy/integrations/revenuecat).

  * **Earn 10 credits for completing the in-app survey** — Finishing the PostHog survey now drops 10 prompt credits into your account automatically.

  ## Updates

  * **Auto-repair for missing packages** — Before the dev server starts, the project runner now detects missing dependencies and reinstalls them, so previews start cleanly instead of failing on a missing package.

  * **Builds are paused while the agent is working** — Starting a build is now blocked while the agent is mid-edit to avoid shipping a half-finished change, and the EAS fallback UI has been polished when a build can't run.

  * **Status banner now links to the status page** — The top-of-page health banner now points directly to the Newly status page so you can check incident details in one click.

  * **Free tier sidebar cleanup** — The Support button is hidden from the project sidebar for free-tier users to keep the navigation focused on what's available on your plan.

  * **Earlier alerts on dependency install failures** — The project runner now flags failed dependency installs immediately so the agent can recover instead of silently continuing with a broken environment.

  ## Bug fixes

  * Fixed the RevenueCat connect flow so project-scoped OAuth tokens are handled correctly and no longer break the link step.
  * Blocked malicious `package.json` install lifecycle hooks from running inside project sandboxes.
  * Fixed the project health endpoint so the status banner reflects the real state of the system.
